Disability Ministry Education Opportunities
Have you ever wondered if there are formal educational opportunities for training in disability ministry? The last decade has brought so much progress to the world of disability ministry, including a recognition that people need and want to be formally trained! Praise the Lord!
If you've ever been interested in learning more about these opportunities, check out the list below! And a special shoutout to Sandra Peoples for both her involvement in many of these programs, as well as alerting us to several of the program on this list!
Master's Level
Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary offers both a Master of Divinity and Master of Arts in Christian Education in disability ministry. The classes will be during intensive weeks on campus (or online), with the first one scheduled for Dec. 14-18. Learn more and apply here.
Dallas Baptist University has a Special Needs concentration in both their Master of Arts in Children’s Ministry and their Master of Arts in Family Ministry.
Bachelor's Level
Liberty University provides a Residential Minor in Disability Ministry or get a Bachelor of Science in Bible – Disability Ministry (online). Want Sandra Peoples to be your teacher? This is your chance!
Certificate Level
Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary is offering a non-certification level Disability Ministry Training.
Western Theological Seminary offers a graduate certificate in Disability and Ministry.
Joni and Friends provides a variety of online certificate programs
Moody Bible Institute offers a Certificate in Disability Ministry
Dallas Baptist University Certificate in Special Needs Children's Ministry
Cohort Level
The Gospel Coalition will be offering a cohort in Disability Ministryfor eight weeks in October and November. Sandra Peoples and some of our other favorite ministry leaders will be leading this!
Conference Level
At this year's ETCH Conference, Sandra Peoples will be leading a two-hour intensive on Monday, Oct. 5th, from 1:30-3:30. Learn more and register here.
