Fostering Community and Conversation in Bible Study

Have you ever been so excited to teach a Bible story—you've planned your discussion and made a fun activity—only to be greeted with…crickets?

We've all been there in our own Bible studies, right? Sometimes we just don't feel like talking or maybe we didn't sleep well the night before. Maybe we're confused and don't want anyone to know.

Or for some of our groups, there can be so much discussion it's hard to stay on track! We can get so excited about talking about our week or getting to know a new friend in the group that we don't even get through the material.

Whichever scenario you find yourself in,  we wanted to address those concerns with the upcoming Teen and Adult resources from Awe & Wonder.

Discussion-Based Questions

In the new Teen and Adult resources, you will find discussion-based questions that will help get learners talking while digging deeper into the Word.

These review questions are specifically designed to encourage learners to read the Bible passage carefully, looking for key words and specific answers to questions. For our friends who also need visual or symbol supports, there is also the option of color-coded questions and passages along with picture-supported multiple-choice answers.

As students work through and discuss the questions, we hope they will find natural ways to incorporate the truths of the gospel into their conversations wherever they may spend their time.

Live it Out Questions

The Live it Out questions are one of my favorite features of the Teen and Adult resources, especially for sparking conversation and connection. These are more open-ended questions that are designed to get students thinking about what it really looks like to follow God in their everyday lives.

This is a great way to teach and practice conversational skills, too! Students can ask each other the Live it Out questions, and practice asking followup questions as their peers answer.

Weekly Devotional Guides

As learners deepen their relationship with God and with each other, they may desire more interaction with the Bible. Additionally, repetition of biblical truths is a proven method for supporting comprehension. Each Teen and Adult monthly unit includes Weekly Devo Guides that takes students through short, daily activities to steep students in Truth throughout the week.

As your students work through each of these pieces in the new resources, we hope they will build connections with one another around what's most important: Christ. We are praying for your ministries!

For each section of the Bible study questions, you’ll find both text-only and symbol-supported discussion guides to meet your students where they are.
